NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has proposed transforming Kazakhstan into a global hub for physical artificial intelligence (AI), following a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana on October 23. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation in AI and digital innovation, aligning with Kazakhstan’s national priorities in these fields.

President Tokayev emphasized that artificial intelligence and digitalization are key national priorities, declaring 2026 as the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan. He underscored the significance of the partnership with NVIDIA, noting the collaborative efforts with local technology company Higgsfield as a step towards realizing the country’s AI ambitions.

Huang commended Kazakhstan’s developmental goals and proposed establishing the nation as a center for physical AI. This concept involves integrating artificial intelligence with tangible systems like robots, autonomous machines, and industrial equipment. He pointed out that Kazakhstan’s energy resources and a skilled workforce in science, mathematics, and technology are critical assets for AI development.

The collaboration with NVIDIA is seen as a catalyst for long-term growth in Kazakhstan’s AI sector. Huang highlighted the progress made through partnerships with local tech businesses, suggesting a strong foundation for ongoing cooperation.

In recognition of his contributions to advancing AI in Kazakhstan, President Tokayev awarded Jensen Huang the Order of Dostyk. This honor marks a significant step in the burgeoning relationship between NVIDIA and Kazakhstan as they work together towards a future driven by artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
