Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s Foreign Minister, has embarked on a two-day trip to Prague with the aim of bolstering bilateral ties and addressing regional security concerns. His itinerary includes discussions with Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka and a meeting with Czech President Petr Pavel.
A key highlight of Sa’ar’s visit is his participation in a Czech-Israeli business forum, where numerous Israeli companies will be present. This event underscores the increasing economic collaboration between the two nations. Sa’ar’s trip comes on the heels of several high-level interactions between Israel and the Czech Republic, reinforcing the strong diplomatic connection.
Earlier this year, Sa’ar had already visited the Czech Republic, and reciprocally, Macinka traveled to Israel in April to further deepen bilateral relations. During those meetings, they agreed on setting up a joint commission to enhance trade and cooperation, with a particular focus on the healthcare and cybersecurity sectors. These topics are expected to be revisited during the current meetings in Prague.
Beyond economic interests, the talks will also delve into the dynamics of the Middle East and how they influence European Union policy and regional security. This dialogue is part of a broader effort by both nations to strengthen their diplomatic, economic, and strategic partnerships amid changing regional landscapes.
