Türkiye Warns of Economic Impact From Israel’s Syria Strikes, Seeks Global Action

by admin477351

Ankara has sharply criticized the recent series of Israeli airstrikes in southern Syria, denouncing the actions as violations of Syrian sovereignty and a potential threat to the stability of the broader region. The Turkish Foreign Ministry specifically pointed out that the strikes, which hit areas in Quneitra and Daraa, breached Syria’s territorial integrity, contravened international law, and violated the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.

Highlighting the potential consequences of such military actions, Türkiye expressed concern that these strikes could exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation in Syria, endangering civilian lives and disrupting ongoing efforts to stabilize the war-torn nation. Turkish authorities urged the global community to intervene and take measures to prevent further assaults that could escalate regional tensions.

Burhanettin Duran, Türkiye’s Communications Director, added his voice to the condemnation, arguing that the strikes pose a threat to Syria’s security and could impede progress towards achieving lasting peace in the region. He emphasized the importance of maintaining Syria’s sovereignty as a cornerstone of regional security.

Türkiye has consistently maintained its stance on supporting Syria’s unity and territorial integrity, considering these elements essential for ensuring stability in the Middle East. Turkish officials reiterated their commitment to these principles, calling for international cooperation to uphold them amid ongoing conflicts.
