by admin477351

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu firmly dismissed allegations that Israel has engaged in genocide in Gaza, labeling such accusations as false. Netanyahu’s speech, marked by his defense of Israel’s military actions, was met with a notable walkout by numerous delegates before and during his address.

Netanyahu justified Israel’s military decisions, particularly the attacks on Iran, which he described as straightforward choices made in the interest of national security. He asserted that some countries privately endorse Israel’s stance against Iran, despite public criticism. The Israeli leader also condemned those delegates who exited the assembly, suggesting they failed to acknowledge Israel’s right to self-defense.

A significant part of Netanyahu’s argument rested on the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths. He used this incident to bolster his justification for Israel’s ongoing military operations. Additionally, Netanyahu expressed gratitude to former US President Donald Trump for backing actions against Iran.

The Israeli Prime Minister categorically denied any war crimes by Israel or that their actions in Gaza could be classified as genocide. He further defended Israel’s policies concerning the West Bank, while simultaneously condemning violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians as unacceptable.

Netanyahu’s address came amidst persistent international scrutiny over Israel’s conduct in Gaza and differing opinions on the future of Palestinian territories. He reiterated his stance against establishing a Palestinian state under his leadership and questioned the Palestinian Authority’s capability as a peace partner.
