‘fraudulent’ ad from Canada sparks end of trade talks

by admin477351

A “fraudulent” ad from Canada has sparked an immediate end to all us-Canada trade talks, according to president Trump.

The president, posting on truth social, called the ad “fake” and accused Canada of “egregious behavior.” The ad, from Ontario, featured a 1987 clip of Ronald Reagan .

It was designed to protest 35% US tariffs on Canadian  goods. It used Reagan’s warning that “trade barriers hurt every American worker.”

The ad’s use of the speech has been challenged by the Ronald Reagan  Presidential Foundation. They stated the “selective audio” “misrepresents” the former president’s full comments.

The suspension of talks, confirmed by secretary of state Marco Rubio, escalates the trade war and puts the c$3.6 billion daily trade relationship at risk.
